These Terms and Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement between the customer / passenger ("you", "client") and Bharat Travels Chandigarh ("we", "us", or "company"). By booking any vehicle (Tempo Traveller, Force Urbania, Tourist Bus, or Cab) via https://btchd.in, phone, WhatsApp, or in person, you agree to comply with the terms set forth herein.
1 Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility
To enter into a reservation contract with Bharat Travels Chandigarh, you must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to enter into contracts under applicable Indian law. Group leaders, tour coordinators, or corporate representatives booking on behalf of multiple passengers assume responsibility for ensuring all co-passengers are informed of and adhere to these guidelines.
2 Booking Procedure & Payment Schedule
A booking is deemed confirmed only upon receipt of an advance booking token and written issuance of a booking voucher or WhatsApp confirmation from our official desk.
- Advance Token: A minimum advance payment (typically 20% to 30% of the estimated contract value) is mandatory to block the vehicle, driver, and travel dates.
- Mid-Trip Payment: An additional payment of 50% to 60% of the total billing amount must be settled upon arrival or boarding the vehicle at the initial pickup location.
- Final Settlement: The remaining balance, including any excess kilometer charges, driver night allowances, or additional parking expenses, must be cleared before the final drop-off at your destination.
- Payment Modes: Payments are accepted via UPI, IMPS/NEFT Bank Transfer, Cash, or authorized Payment Gateway links. Receipts and GST invoices are provided upon request.
3 Kilometer Calculation & Tariff Policies
Our billing adheres to the standard commercial motor vehicle tariff norms of the Chandigarh & North India transport association:
- Garage-to-Garage Calculation: Kilometers and duty timings commence from our garage (Shop No 774, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh) and terminate upon the vehicle’s return to our garage, unless an all-inclusive fixed lump sum package is contracted in writing.
- Outstation Daily Minimum: For outstation journeys, a standard minimum benchmark of 250 kilometers per calendar day (or ₹5,000 per day minimum) is charged. If the cumulative distance travelled across the tour exceeds the aggregate minimum quota (Days × 250 km), excess distance is billed at the agreed per-km rate.
- Local City Rentals: Local Chandigarh/Tricity duty packages are standardly structured on 8 Hours / 80 Kilometers slabs. Additional hours and extra kilometers beyond the slab are chargeable at prevailing hourly/km rates.
- Calendar Day Definition: For outstation trips, a “Day” corresponds to a calendar day (from 12:00 Midnight to 11:59 PM).
Passengers are encouraged to verify starting and closing odometer readings on the driver’s duty slip at the commencement and completion of each service.
4 Fare Inclusions & Exclusions
Unless expressly quoted as a “Net All-Inclusive Package”, rental tariffs are structured as follows:
- Included in Base Fare: Sanitized vehicle rental, chauffeur charges, and fuel (diesel) consumption.
- Excluded & Billed Separately:

6 Passenger Conduct & Safety Guidelines
To ensure a secure, hygienic, and peaceful journey for all occupants and our operating personnel:
- Zero Tolerance on Narcotics & Contraband: Carrying or consuming illegal substances, arms, or prohibited narcotics inside the vehicle is strictly forbidden. Any violation will result in immediate termination of the trip and notification to law enforcement.
- Strictly No Smoking: All our Tempo Travellers, Force Urbanias, and Tourist Buses are 100% smoke-free environments.
- Seating Capacity Adherence: By Indian Motor Vehicles Act guidelines, passengers may not exceed the vehicle’s registered seating capacity (e.g., maximum 17 passengers in a 17-seater). Children occupying individual seats are counted in the seating roster.
- Vehicle Cleanliness: Passengers are requested to maintain interior cleanliness. Any severe damage, torn upholstery, or spills requiring deep sanitization may incur a cleaning restoration fee.
7 Mountain Driving Regulations & Chauffeur Rest
Operating high-capacity passenger commercial vehicles across Himalayan terrains demands exceptional driver alertness and strict safety protocols:
- Driver Rest Hours: To prevent highway fatigue and preserve passenger safety, drivers must be provided adequate rest (minimum 7 to 8 hours uninterrupted sleep per 24 hours). Continuous night driving through hill slopes is restricted after 10:30 PM unless in acute medical emergencies.
- Off-Roading & Unpaved Trails: Commercial tempo travellers and buses are built for asphalt roads and motorable hill highways. Drivers retain final authority to decline driving over non-motorable riverbeds, loose gravel landslides, or unauthorized forest trails that threaten vehicle and passenger integrity.
- Air Conditioning on Mountain Grades: While climbing steep mountain ascents, vehicle AC is temporarily deactivated to maintain necessary engine torque and cooling system safety.
8 Force Majeure & Route Modifications
Bharat Travels Chandigarh shall not be held liable for failure or delays in performing any travel obligations resulting from events beyond our reasonable human anticipation, including but not limited to:
- Earthquakes, cloudbursts, severe snowfall, avalanches, floods, or landslides blocking highways.
- Civil unrest, bandhs, strikes, border closures, public rallies, or military diversions.
- Sudden changes in local government regulations or shrine board restrictions.
In such events, any additional costs incurred for unexpected detours, extra fuel, extended vehicle days, or driver night allowances shall be borne by the customer.
9 Legal Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
These terms shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. In the event of any irreconcilable dispute or legal proceeding arising out of or related to our services, the exclusive jurisdiction shall lie with the competent courts located in Chandigarh, India.
